FAQs

Who cannot get a cosmetic tattoo?

  • Pregnant women

  • If you are under the age of 18

  • Has HIV AIDS (risk of spreading infection)

  • Been on Accutane (must be off 1 year)

  • Prone to Keloid scaring

  • Undergoing Chemo or Radiation or had recent surgery. (Should wait 6 months as immune system is compromised and client is at high infection risk)

When do I need a touch up appointment & why is it needed?

We strongly advise that you book your 6-8 week touch up at the same time you book your first tattoo appointment with us or on the day of the first initial appointment. This is because there may be a wait for appointments and if you leave booking it in too late then you will exceed that period and be charged as a 3-6 month touch up instead. A touch up appointment is required at 6 weeks to assess the shape, colour and pigment retention in the skin, everyone heals differently and it is normal for some people to loose bits of colour after the first appointment (this can be subtle or in patches) and can all depend on lifestyle, skin type, and how well you follow the pre & Post care instructions.

What should I expect after my appointment?

Expect your brows to look darker the first few days and then lighter underneath, healing is a process and will take up to 4-6 weeks to see true results from your first session. Refer to aftercare instructions for more information.

How is the pigment colour chosen?

The pigment colour will be matched as close as possible to your natural brow/hair colour or 1-2 shades darker. When freshly tattooed the pigment colour can appear warmer in the skin and once healed cool down in colour.

Will I still have to wear makeup after having my brows or lips tattooed?

LOW MAINTINENCE NOT NO MAINTINENCE! Although you may now have your brows tattooed, they might still need to be cleaned up around the shape and if you are an older client with lighter hairs coming through you may still want to have them tinted. (The tattoo does not change the colour of your brow hair).

Do You Require A Deposit?

Yes, a deposit is required to secure an appointment, and nothing will be booked until this is paid. All bookings must be made online or in store. All payments are non-refundable. We take a deposit to avoid the risk of no shows. If you would like to use after pay for your deposit, please contact the salon directly.

How do I choose what style of tattooing is right for me?

When deciding on which style to book for you will need to take your skin type into consideration. The following skin concerns are not suitable for a feather touch tattoo; oily skin, large pores, acne, rosacea, extremely dry/cracked skin (eczema), and on any medications that thin the blood. If you have any of these skin concerns it is best to book for ombre shading or a combination brow. If your skin type is suitable for any tattoo method and you are unsure what one to book, then please send us a message with pictures of your bare face so that we can give you our best advice.

How long will my cosmetic tattoo last?

Microblading (feather strokes) can last 6 - 18 months depending on your skin type and how well they have been taken care of. If you are having Ombre/Powder or shading in your brows, they will last longer than just microblading again depending on your skin type 1-2 years. Lip tattooing can last anywhere between 2-7 years depending on colour choice/pigment brand.

Everyone’s skin takes to the pigment differently and results may differ for everyone. Some things that may prolong your results are putting sunscreen on when in the sun and avoiding facial products that are made to strip or peel the skin. A cosmetic tattoo is a low maintenance procedure, not a no maintenance procedure so in order to maintain the colour and shape you should come for touch ups when required.
